Presbyterian Women (PW) meet on the second Thursday of each month at 9:45 am. The meeting begins with refreshments and a faith study, followed by the business meeting. Women and men are both welcome to attend the study. Our current study is "An Alter in the World" by Barbara Brown Taylor
Our PW group is part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s national Presbyterian Women's organization. The purpose of PW is this: Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
·To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
·To support the mission of the church worldwide,
·To work for justice and peace, and
·To build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
The Annual "Dinner Out" at the Masters Restaurant was a joyful event attended by 30 women of the church. Thanks to Joyce Macfarlane and Gloria Stanley for organizing the dinner.
Mark your calendars for the Mission Ingathering Shower on Thursday, September 14th @ 7:00 pm. The list of "requested items" for our church is posted on the PW bulletin board. A list of "needed" but not "required" is also posted. These include handmade items such as lap robes, Afghans, preemie knit hats, crocheted works of art, etc. which are greatly appreciated by local missions. Please see Carol Yoshida or Judy Webb if you have questions or need more information.
Dolls for the Good fellows are available and looking for someone to dress them so they can be displayed on August 27th in Fellowship Hall. Betty Duplissis has lovely outfits for $10, if you wish to purchase one. Thanks to all for all you do!

Current News from the Men's Group - February 2017
The 2016 Mission Garden final report has been completed and it was a great season with 251 lbs of veggies raised and donated. Thanks to the garden managers for a job well done. Hope you can join in the Garden fun this coming season. Many thanks from the Men's Group.
The MG served dinner January 9th, at Second Mile Center. The meal was home (church) made chicken stew, salad, cookies and bottled water. There were 82 diners plus 6 from FC. Thanks to Jane and Kelly for helping make the chicken stew, and Elaine for making the cookies. We can save about $100 per event cooking up a nutritious meal like this. The next dinner will be Monday February 6th. Please come and help out if you can.
