Presbyterian Women (PW) meet on the second Thursday of each month at 9:45 am. The meeting begins with refreshments and a faith study, followed by the business meeting. Women and men are both welcome to attend the study.
We voted to use the series entitled If You Want to Walk of Water You Have to Get out of the Boat. Pastor Nancy has taught this before and will lead us in the series starting in October
Our PW group is part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s national Presbyterian Women's organization. The purpose of PW is this: Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
·To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
·To support the mission of the church worldwide,
·To work for justice and peace, and
·To build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
SAVE THE DATE DECEMBER 13TH. CHRISTMAS POTLUCK DINNER AND WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT EXCHANGE.
All women of First Church are invited to this annual event. A white elephant gift is something you may have around the house that you no longer need and would like to share it with someone else. Our mission project this year will be to help supply the food pantry at St. Paul's Church on Mound Road. Please bring a can or box of non-perishable food for the collection. It will be an evening of fun, food and fellowship. Hope to see you there.
