On Saturday, September 8, First Presbyterian hosted the 2nd Annual Bocce Ball Charity Challenge Tournament. Teams from the church joined up with the Families Exploring Down Syndrome (FEDS) group for a great day of lawn bowling, friendship, and sunshine! For the second year in a row, the team from DFE Fire took top prize and gave the prize money to the FEDS group. FEDS will use the $1200 to support Club 21, a community gathering place for young adults with Down syndrome. First Pres is grateful to our anonymous giver for supporting this event with a 3:1 match for every dollar, through our unCommon Mission program.
Thanks also to all the judges, grillers, and organizers who made the day a resounding success! Chilly temperatures quickly made way for sunshine, which resulted in a few unexpected sunburns!
